As you may or may not know today is puppy mills awareness day. When I started this post I wasn't exactly sure of what I wanted to say. So I thought, maybe I will just search puppy mills on Google. I clicked on images and was completely HORRIFIED by the sight. These animals were shoved in a cage made for one dog with 6 or 7 others. They were not brushed, they were not fed, bathed, played with, and mainly never loved. These animals were treated like they didn't belong. They were pointless. Nothing more than a business to those people.
I clicked on a second picture. It took me a minute to realize that the picture was of 13 or 14 trash cans filled with maybe 10-20 dead dogs or cats each.(Picture from the Society for the Advancement of Animal Wellbeing.) At first, I was angry and mad at those people for treating those animals in that way. Then I realized being mad or sad wasn't going to get me anywhere. I knew I had to make a difference and fast. That's when I knew just what to do. I would download a couple of those pictures, print them and hand them out all over my school. I would have a clipboard with a few pieces of paper and I would have kids sign it saying they would never shop from a pet store. Adopt don't shop!
I have a plan and that is how I am going to help make a difference to stop puppy mills. Now how can you?

Great post! My belief is that if I even inspire someone else to help animals, I have done a good job. You are certainly an inspiration. Keep up the fight for animals!

Thank you! It really makes me feel good when people tell me I am an inspiration, which makes me want to write more posts, which inspires someone else to make a change, and I think every comment helps make a difference!!!!

Hi Miah,
Thanks so much for spreading word about this horrific issue. You are an eloquent writer and I hope you will continue to put pen to paper (or fingers to the keyboard).
Best wishes,

Love the layout! Thank you for sharing!
It is amazing how quickly time goes! I have not touched my pages since June, but seem to be coming up with ideas that I hope to remember when I have that next moment...
Thank you again!

As the article at Inside CRM (linked in this post) declares, display and text advertising are prominent and easy sources of revenue. You can work with an ad network or sell directly to brands that may be interested in your blog.

Point well taken. But then again, I don't think they should run much transit in mixed traffic at all--that is, if there's any traffic to speak of.
But, I could see some situations where giving the streetcar dedicated right of way could happen in the future, just like creating a bus lane. At least streetcar is cheaper than heavier rail to alter and expand, and even a short, bad stretch only popular among yuppies and tourists (read: Portland) can be the beginning of a network that gets better over time. But, I really have no hope for the U.S. until I see Rasengleise ;D
